FREE Replay: Creator Workshop
Yesterday, I spent over an hour auditing creator and founder businesses live, and by the time we wrapped the session, I knew I had to come on here and share with you the discoveries. Something I’m particularly fond of when I work with creators and founders is that they all are from different industries, have different business models, different revenue levels, different follower counts, yet everyone knows that what I teach boils down to SCALING your social media business.
Time and time again, I hear my students say that the answer to scaling is posting more… posting every day. Others assume they had somehow fallen behind because IG once again changed its algorithm or because TikTok had become saturated, or because their audience simply wasn’t converting anymore. A few were convinced that if they could just crack the code on reaching more people, everything else would solve itself.
None of those things were the actual problem.
What became incredibly obvious throughout the workshop yesterday was that the overwhelming majority of creators aren’t suffering from a visibility problem at all. They’re suffering from a positioning problem, and those two things are NOT interchangeable.
Over the past twenty years, I’ve had the privilege of helping build the businesses behind some of the most recognizable names in this industry. I’ve sat inside talent agencies, negotiated campaigns with Fortune 500 companies, advised founders building global brands, and worked alongside creators whose businesses generate millions of dollars each year. After seeing thousands of businesses from the inside, I can tell you that the businesses which scale are the ones whose positioning is so clear that every piece of content reinforces exactly who they are, who they serve, and why someone should trust them enough to buy. I don’t care if you’re a fashion influencer selling me Free People, a brand selling me pickles, or a real estate agent selling me a 3.5mil condo on Miami Beach.
One creator who’s IG I audited live during the workshop had beautiful photography, thoughtful storytelling, and genuinely exceptional products, yet her profile never actually told visitors what she helped people accomplish or why they should stay. SHe told me her bottleneck was monetization, and I made it crystal clear why and how to fix it. I love horseback riding, so I compared her IG to spending months earning a horse’s trust inside a stable without ever actually getting on the horse and reigning it to where I want it to go. In other words, you can build the strongest relationship imaginable with your audience online, but unless you eventually lead that relationship somewhere (ie, your website, your LTK, your offer), you’ve only completed half the journey.
That analogy seemed to resonate because it describes exactly what I see every week inside creator businesses. We’ve become so afraid of appearing “salesy” that we’ve accidentally removed all direction from our businesses. We assume that if we continue producing valuable content, people will eventually figure out what we sell. THEY DON’T. And this is the biggest misconception on social media: YOU ARE HERE TO SELL!!!!! If not, it’s a hobby for you, not an actual thriving and sustainable business.
Content does not monetize itself. Systems monetize content.
That idea tends to make people uncomfortable because it shifts the conversation away from algorithms and toward responsibility. It’s much easier to believe that IG isn’t showing your content than it is to acknowledge that your audience may not fully understand what you stand for, why you’re different, or how to move from discovering you to actually buying from you. Yet those are precisely the questions every successful business answers exceptionally well.
This is also why I spend far less time talking about content calendars than I do about positioning frameworks, customer journeys, offer architecture, and marketing ecosystems. Content is only one component of a business. Without the underlying strategy, even exceptional content eventually reaches a ceiling.
If you weren’t able to join us live on Thursday, I’ve made the replay available because I genuinely think this conversation is too important to miss. Throughout the workshop, I audit real businesses, diagnose the strategic bottlenecks preventing growth, and explain exactly how I would approach fixing them. If you’ve ever wondered why your content isn’t translating into the business you know you’re capable of building, I think you’ll recognize yourself somewhere in those conversations.
You can watch the full workshop here.
Enrollment for the Private Advisory Room is also open, and because the workshop just concluded, I’m extending the special $3,999 tuition (normally $5,000) along with the Fast-Track bonus that allows us to begin working together before the official August 24 start date. That offer expires Saturday at 11:59 p.m. ET, at which point tuition returns to its standard pricing and the Fast-Track sessions disappear.
If you’re serious about building a business that is remembered long after individual posts are forgotten, I’d love to work with you.
xx
Idalia
