Let’s take a time machine back to 2014, shall we?
Oh yes, that prehistoric time where just having a pretty feed and a large follower count meant something. Actually, it meant everything. Brands would throw money at influencers like Charlie Sheen at a strip joint. Aesthetic grids, viral dance trends, and engagement pods created overnight stars, and man did they BANK because of it. I know, I’m the one that made them gazillions of dollars because of it.
In 2025, we’re already witnessing the death of the traditional influencer, you know, the ones who built their platforms on nothing but aesthetics, dance trends, and surface-level (“Do you like my new Fendi? tee-hee!”) engagement.
